“Writing Reimagined: (Re)Engaging in a New World”
How well does our teaching engage this generation of students? When we teach “the writing process,” do we truly understand these students and their own processes? With the advent of new technologies like generative AI and the continued growth of online writing and communication, it seems we, as writing teachers, have a responsibility to revisit old techniques and modify what “writing” means in this new world.
We want to step back, perhaps even looking backward to move forward, consider these rapidly changing definitions and contexts, and help our students navigate spaces where the concept of “writing” is broader and more expansive than ever. Are we “brave” enough to acknowledge and sometimes challenge our brave new world?
